The Edmonton Oilers beat the Florida Panthers in a 5-4 OT victory in Game 4 on Thursday night at Amerant Bank Arena, to tie the Stanley Cup Final at 2-2.
Leon Draisaitl scored in overtime at the 11:18 mark of the first sudden-death frame to give the Oilers win- marking his fourth time OT goal in these playoffs. After finding themselves down 3-0, Edmonton’s Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Darnell Nurse, Vasily Podkolzin and Jake Walman scored the team’s first four goals, while Calvin Pickard made 22 saves.
Edmonton coach Kris Knoblauch said after the game: “Games like that, it’s exhausting — it’s a roller coaster. Two good teams playing as hard as they are, playing the right way. Obviously with what’s on the line, it’s stressful. There’s a lot on the line, but it is fun and I think our guys are having fun, enjoying this moment.”
Game 5 is slated for Saturday at Rogers Place.
